The main function of sandwich panels (also known as sandwich panels) is to use their layered structure to achieve comprehensive performance improvement, including good thermal insulation, excellent strength and stiffness, outstanding fire and insulation capabilities, convenient construction, and good decorative properties. Different combinations of core materials and panel materials can achieve specific functions, such as providing fire resistance with rock wool and other materials, providing economic insulation with EPS foam, improving the insulation effect of cold storage and other scenarios with PU materials, or providing applications with high strength requirements with aluminum honeycomb. 

Specific functional classification

Thermal insulation function: this is one of the most basic functions of sandwich panels. The thermal insulation core materials (such as rock wool, rigid foam plastic, polystyrene foam EPS, etc.) filled in the middle can effectively reduce the heat transfer and improve the thermal insulation effect of the building. 

Structural strength and stiffness: A sandwich structure consisting of two layers of hard panels (such as color steel plates, aluminum alloy plates, etc.) and an intermediate core material, with high strength and rigidity. It can withstand external loads and natural forces, ensuring the safety and stability of the building. 

Fireproof and thermal insulation performance: Using non combustible inorganic materials such as rock wool and glass wool as core materials can significantly improve the fire rating of buildings. 

Waterproof and moisture-proof performance: The overall structure of the board and the poor water absorption of some surface and core materials (such as rock wool) make the sandwich board have good waterproof and moisture-proof performance. 

Sound insulation performance: Through the sound absorption and insulation characteristics of the core material, sandwich panels can effectively reduce the propagation of sound. 

Convenient construction: Sandwich panels are usually produced by factory prefabrication and installed directly on site, greatly shortening the construction period and improving construction efficiency. 

Aesthetic decorative effect: The surface of the board is flat and the color is bright. The color and texture can be customized according to the needs to meet the aesthetic requirements of the building. 

Choose different types according to your needs

Insulation requirements: For scenarios that require excellent insulation performance, such as cold storage and refrigerated trucks, PU (polyurethane) sandwich panels can be chosen.

Fire protection requirements: Rock wool or PF (phenolic foam) sandwich panels shall be selected for industrial plants and public buildings that need fire protection performance.

Economical: EPS (polystyrene foam) sandwich panels can be selected when the budget is low.

High strength requirements: In applications that require very high strength and material, such as airports, ships, etc., aluminum honeycomb sandwich panels can be chosen.
